Our Philosophy.

Ritual Bridal is a curated bridal boutique dedicated to vintage, couture, and pre-loved wedding gowns—each chosen for its craftsmanship, character, and enduring beauty. We believe a wedding gown should feel meaningful, not mass-produced, and that the process of finding the perfect dress deserves time, care, and intention.

As the only consignment bridal boutique in the Charleston area, our collection is thoughtfully sourced from past brides, designers, and private sellers, with a focus on quality materials, timeless silhouettes, and distinctive details. Every gown is carefully evaluated, professionally prepared, and priced with transparency, offering brides access to exceptional design at a more accessible price point—without compromising on the bridal experience or atmosphere.

We operate by appointment to create a calm, unhurried environment where gowns are treated like heirlooms rather than inventory. Brides are guided one-on-one through a personalized styling experience that prioritizes fit, comfort, and personal style over trends or a high pressure sales environment. Whether discovering a once-worn couture piece or a rare vintage design, our approach is rooted in respect—for the garment, the bride, and the story being carried forward.

In addition to serving brides, Ritual Bridal offers a consignment program for past brides seeking a thoughtful way to pass their gown on. Through a curated intake process, we help extend the life of meaningful pieces, allowing them to be worn, celebrated, and loved again.

At its core, Ritual Bridal exists to slow the bridal experience down—honoring craftsmanship, sustainability, and the quiet significance of choosing a gown with intention.

  • Every gown in our collection is thoughtfully selected and carefully inspected. We accept only pieces in very good to excellent condition, meaning they are either new or professionally dry cleaned, structurally sound, and ready to wear.

Some gowns may show minor signs or prior wear, such as a loose hook or faint interior mark - details consistent with a garment that has been worn (at maximum) once - but anything requiring significant repair is not accepted. Our stylists will inform you of any notable imperfections prior to purchase.

  • We work by appointment only, so each bride receives a relaxed, personalized experience. To come in and see or try on gowns, simply reserve an appointment through our booking link. During your visit, you’ll have time to browse our collection, try on dresses, and receive one-on-one guidance from our knowledgeable stylists.

  • Ritual Bridal is intentionally different. Rather than made-to-order gowns shipped internationally (tariffs, am I right?) with long lead times (sometimes up to 12 months), our collection is curated, pre-owned, vintage, and couture - each piece chosen for its beauty, craftsmanship, and character.

Brides can see, feel, and try on the exact gown they’ll purchase, often at a significantly lower price point than a made-to-order gown, with the added benefit of choosing a more sustainable path. Our appointments are relaxed and personal, focused on discovery rather than a high pressure sales environment.

You can walk out with the perfect gown same day!

  • We have a wide array of gowns available ranging from $500 - $5,000+ depending on a variety of factors such as designer, desirability, couture fashions, etc.

We are transparent and list all pricing on the tag affixed to each gown - you will also find the original MSRP price of each style to truly understand the value!

  • An appointment at Ritual Bridal is intentionally calm, personal, and unrushed. You’ll have 90 minutes of dedicated time to explore our curated collection, try on gowns (no limit as long as we are within the 90 minute window!), and receive one-on-one guidance in a relaxed setting.

When you arrive, you will be greeted by your assigned stylist. We will offer you and your guests (no more than 6 please!) your preferred beverage and then escort you to our collection to browse through.

Based on your answers to our intake form, we may have pre-selected a few styles for you in your desired style and size, but will add any that you see on the showroom floor to your fitting area.

Our stylist will personally help you into each gown, then present you to your entourage! After the fittings are complete, we will coordinate payment with you on any selections you might have made and send you on your way with gown in hand!

  • We ask that you please limit your entourage to 6 guests or less. Thank you!

  • We recommend wearing gown-appropriate undergarments (examples - strapless bra, shapewear, etc) but mostly just want you to be comfortable!

It is also helpful to bring a pair of shoes that are the approximate height of the shoes you intend to wear on your wedding day. Some of our gowns are pre-hemmed based on the height of their previous owners, and we want to make sure whatever gown you select is just the right fit.

  • We do not offer gown alterations in house but we do have a list of trusted local professionals that we can supply you with.

  • Yes! Besides bridal gowns we also offer veils, select accessories, and some “little white dresses” to complete your ensemble.

Bridal Appointment FAQs:

  • We accept gowns on consignment that are clean and in good repair.

We also require the gown to have a designer label so we can work together to determine an appropriate retail value. The more information you have the better!

  • We will not take gowns into our inventory that have been drastically altered (example - hemmed to 5’5” or shorter), have large stains or drastic damage (small imperfections are OK and sometimes expected!), or have strong odors like from pets, smoke, or perfume.

If you are unsure, always feel free to submit photos of any of the above or call and speak to one of our intake specialists! We are always happy to help.

  • Yes! We accept many other items on consignment including:

“Little White Dresses” with a value of $50 and above (short, nontraditional gowns, think dresses, pants, sets, or skirts you might wear to a welcome party or post-wedding brunch)

Bridal Accessories (belts, gloves, capes, veils, overskirts etc)

Colorful wedding dresses! Wedding dresses don’t have to always. be white ;)

Please note - we do NOT accept shoes unless they are in brand new condition (never worn).

  • We can’t wait to see your gown!

Start by scheduling an appointment with us - when scheduling the appointment you will be prompted to fill out an intake form which we will evaluate prior to your appointment (and reach out with any questions or clarifying details).

Our intake appointments are 30 minutes with one of our specialists. We will examine the gown and, if it meets our criteria, we will prepare a contract with you that details the consignment terms, valuation of the gown, and payment procedures once your dress has sold.

  • During your intake appointment we will take a very close look at your gown to look for cleanliness, wear, and any damage.

After this valuation we generally price your dress at 20 - 30% off its original retail value for new and “like new” gowns. We will occasionally price lower for gowns that are more heavily worn, altered, or are samples (for example).

We offer our consigners a 60/40 split (60% going to the consider) for all gowns valued at $5,000 original retail and above.

We offer a 50/50 split for all items valued at less than $5,000 original retail.

  • Yay! Celebration time!

Once your gown is sold, someone from our team will let you know within 24 hours and then mail you a check (you can also pick up the check if you’d prefer!)

  • At your intake appointment we will discuss and contract your gown at either a 6 month or 12 month period with us. If the agreed upon time passes without a sale, we will inform you at at that point you have 30 days to retrieve your gown from us.

If you’d prefer, and if we think. the gown might need some extra time, we can also negotiate an extension.

  • Consigning your gown with us allows it to have a meaningful second life while helping you recoup value - without the stress of attempting to sell it yourself.

At Ritual Bridal, your gown is professionally presented, marketed, and shown to brides who can see, feel, and try it on in person with the help of our knowledgeable stylists.

We handle everything from pricing guidance to appointment setting and billing, and our generous consignment split means you benefit when your gown finds the right next bride.
